TECNO must have included a bunch of beautiful ringtones on your phone, but I bet they’re not as pleasing as hearing your tunes when you receive a call. Thankfully, you can import your favorite songs as ringtones, so you're not stuck with whatever your OEM provides. But still, it's usually not that smooth, which is while we're writing about how to make custom ringtones on TECNO phones.
In a couple of lines below, we'll teach you how to make beautiful ringtones from your most-loved songs, as well as how to assign them.
How to Make Custom Ringtone on TECNO
Making and setting a custom ringtone on any Android phone is as simple as selecting a song and tapping the "Set as Ringtone" button. However, that's not pretty useful in most cases. Most songs usually have some silent start, and that’s probably not what you want as your ringtone. Or is it?
To create the perfect custom ringtone for your phone, you’ll need an app like MP3 Cutter or Ringtone Maker that allows you to select what part of a song you want to use as your ringer.
The entire process is simple, as we'll analyze below. While there are tons of ringtone makers on the Play Store, we've used the one by In Shot Inc. Install the MP3 Cutter and Ringtone Maker on the Play Store and follow the steps below.
How to make a custom ringtone on TECNO with an MP3 Cutter and Ringtone Maker
- Install the app from the Google Play Store and launch it.
- Tap MP3 Cutter in the top row, and grant the requested permission.
- You’ll see a list of music files available on your phone. Scroll down, or use the search button at the top right, to find the audio file you'd prefer as your new ringtone.
- Click the song to open the trimmer.
- Right there, use the markers to assign your favorite part of the song. Preview your output with the Play
- If you wish, you can tap the Fade button to add a fading effect before your ringer.
- Tap Save in the top-right corner once you’re happy with what you hear.
- In the next window, you can edit the audio file name and other parameters.
- Hit CONVERT to make your ringtone!
Once converted, you can assign the new song as the default ringtone, alarm tone, notification tone, or ringtone for a specific contact in the next window. It’s as easy as that. You can also locate the trimmed audio file in the ringtones folder in your File Manager or wherever you choose while creating it.
Meanwhile, if you have dual SIM cards on your phone, MP3 Cutter will only set the ringtone for the first SIM card. Follow the later guide to learn how to set a custom ringtone for both SIM cards.
How to change/set ringtones on TECNO
Once you have your preferred custom ringtones in stock, it’s as easy as ever to assign them as you see fit. The below steps will guide you on how to change your ringtone on a TECNO or any Android device,
- Launch the Settings
- Tap Sound & Vibration
- Click Phone Ringtone
- You’ll see a list of ringtones you have already.
- To add a new one, scroll to the bottom and tap + ADD RINGTONE
- Find the ringtone (audio file) you want to use in your File Manager.
- Tap to select the song.
- Now, back to the list of ringtones, select the one you just added.
That’s how to set a custom ringtone on your phone. If you have a dual SIM card, though, you’ll need to set their custom ringtones separately. Usually, you should see ‘Phone ringtone 1' and 'Phone ringtone 2' with most TECNO phones with dual SIMs.
How to change/set ringtones for specific contacts
Looking for a brilliant way to identify who’s calling you without checking the screen? Set a custom ringtone for an individual contact. If you've always wanted to listen to "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran, any time your Babe calls you, here's the simple trick.
- Open the Contacts app on your phone.
- Find and select the contact you want to assign a custom tone.
- Tap the 3-dot menu button in the top right.
- Click Set Ringtone
- Choose your preferred sound from the list or add a new one.
TECNO ringtones download
While you can easily make ringtones from your favorite songs, chances are you still want to download some unique ringtones online. Even, many of us are still addicted to the iconic Nokia ringtone from day one, and so many tones like that.
In that case, many apps are available on the Play Store, where you can download unlimited ringtones for your TECNO phone. And while we can’t list them all, I’ve tried Zedge, and it’s just my favorite app for downloading ringtones and fancy wallpapers.
Zedge is available for free on the Play Store. It contains ads, but you can pay the premium subscription if you hate ads.
Why is my TECNO not ringing out?
There could be three principal reasons your Android phone isn't ringing out:
- If you’ve turned down its ring volume
- Assigned a custom ringtone that isn’t audible or damaged
- Your phone speaker is faulty.
To fix your phone’s ringing issue, try turning up the ring volume in the settings sound section.
- Navigate to Settings > Sounds & Vibration
- Locate “Ring Volume” among the sliders and drag it to the right sound.
If your speaker is working and you’ve assigned an audible ringtone, you should hear a sound when you improve the ring volume.
If your phone is still not ringing, try assigning another ringtone (as explained earlier). Also, confirm your phone isn't in Do Not Disturb mode, as it usually silences every sound on your phone.
Final thoughts
TECNO phones are usually loaded with many beautiful ringtones. However, you can also import yours if they make you feel better when you receive a call. And now that you know how to make custom ringtones on TECNO and apply them for various settings, feel free to create what pleases you and what makes you happy or feel better when someone calls you.
