Quick and Easy Guide to Activating Your My Safaricom App on Your Smartphone
In a bid to ensure everyone has access to the best of Safaricom, irrespective of their operating system, the My Safaricom app is available both on Android and iOS. And to get started, all you need to download the app from the Google Play Store or App Store on your phone. It’s completely free.
Simply search for “My Safaricom” in the respective app stores on your phone and install it. Once you have the app on your phone, kindly follow the steps below to activate it and start enjoying it.
- Launch the app after installing it.
- Enter your Safaricom phone number and email, then click Generate Personal Identification Number (PIN)
- You’ll receive an OTP on your phone, which should be confirmed automatically if your device runs Android. Tap log in to continue.
- If you use an iPhone or iPad, you'll need to enter the OTP manually and then tap Login to continue.
- After a successful registration/activation, the app will request you to accept the Terms and Conditions. Accept them to complete the setup and proceed to the home page.

Probably the best thing about the new My Safaricom app is how it manages your account information summary. Now, you don't need to call customer care before you can get details about your Safaricom line. With the app, you can request a detailed summary of your account, including account balances, top-up services, Call Data Records (CDRs), data Bonga, Skiza, PUK, Know Your Customer (KYC) details, tariff plans, backup service, Okoa Jahazi, and many more.

Relieve yourself from the stress of memorizing USSD codes for data services. The My Safaricom app grants you seamless access to data services on your phone. With it, you can buy data bundles, share from your existing data bundles, check your data balance/status, and a lot more. The app also lets you to calculate the amount of data you need based on your usage pattern.

While anyone can top-up their line using M-PESA or their ATM card, many still prefer the local way: purchasing scratch cards. If you’re among them and don’t fancy recharging from your M-PESA balance or bank, topping your line with recharge card PINs is a bit easier with the new My Safaricom app.
Instead of entering those 16 digits in scratch card PINs, you can now top up your line by simply pointing your phone camera at the numbers. All you need is to open the My Safaricom app, click the Airtime Top-up button, choose SCRATCH CARD, and then tap SCAN SCRATCH CARD.
