People block numbers for many reasons, like to stop annoying calls from telemarketers or Spammers and Robocallers, or it could also just be that your number was mistakenly added to their block list.
It is not new to want to figure out if someone has blocked you on your Android Phone. While we hope that isn't the case, we often still want to find out.

While there is no surefire way to know if your number has been blocked except for asking the person, many existing options can be used to tell if someone has blocked you on your Android phone. In that case, you may want to keep reading this article, as it will show you how to tell if someone has blocked you on your Android phone, and we will explore them one after the other by using phone numbers or text messages as well as apps to verify if you have been blocked.
How can you tell if someone has blocked you on an Android Phone?
1. When your calls go straight to voicemail
There can be many reasons this happens, from terrible networks to the person’s unavailability to respond to calls, or they might have their phones turned off. However, if you find that your calls always go to voicemail immediately, then that could be a signal that the person has probably blocked your number.
Remember that this isn't always accurate, and the best way to tell if someone has blocked you is by asking the person.
2.Your Text Messages are not being delivered
This is another way to tell if someone has blocked you on their Android phone. When you send a text message, and it fails to deliver all the time or does not show a note or notification for delivery, then the receiver did not receive your text message, which then means that there is a high probability that you have been blocked.
It bears repeating that this does not automatically conclude that you have been blocked. It can happen when there is a lousy network on your Android phone, and it takes some time to deliver. So, you should contact the receiver and ask if you have been blocked.
3. Delete their number and search in your contacts list
If your calls have been going to voicemail and your text messages have consistently not been delivered, and you don't want to ask the person if they have blocked your number in their Android phone, then there is another way you can tell if your number has been blocked by just following these few steps
- Go to your contact app on your Android phone and look for the person’s number you think has blocked you
- Copy their number
- Tap on the three dots in the top corner of the screen
- Tap on “Delete” to delete their contact information.
- Now, close the contacts app and reopen it
- Type the name or the number of the person you just deleted in the search box
Whatever response you get will verify if you have been blocked. When you search for the person’s name or number, and it comes up as a suggested contact, the person has not blocked you. If the person’s name or number does not come up in the suggestions, then it is very likely your number has been blocked.
In the case that you find out that you have not been blocked, don’t forget to re-save the person’s contact information back into your phone.
4. Call using another phone number or a hidden number
When you call a person, the typical ring is about 3 to 10 times b31#efore you are sent to voicemail, that is, if the called party doesn't pick up the phone immediately. If it does not ring at all but heads to voicemail, then it means that you have not been blocked. The person’s phone is probably switched off or in airplane mode or “Do Not Disturb” mode. However, if it rings just once (or a half-ring or abbreviated ring) and goes directly to voicemail, then it's very likely your number has been blocked.
This is not a sure way to verify if your number has been blocked. The reason you were directed to voicemail could be because of a lousy network or the unavailability of the called party to answer the call. To know this better, you might want to try contacting the person using another phone number or a hidden number.
Different countries have different codes used to hide or disguise numbers. In Nigeria, you can hide a number by dialing #31# before the person’s number (Ex.: #31#070xxxxxxxx), while in other countries, it is *67.
Calling with a different or hidden number will better inform you if you have been blocked. The call won’t be directed to voicemail, and the person may even answer the call. Of course, not many people will answer a call from a hidden or unknown number, but you can at least check the rings. If the call goes through and multiple rings are heard, then your number may just be blocked.
5. Using Social Media
Another way to tell if you have been blocked is through social media. If you have been previously connected via social media and you no longer see their posts or pictures, then there’s a high chance that you’ve been blocked.
Social media apps like Twitter will not permit you to see a person’s profile, much less send them a message if the person has blocked you. On WhatsApp, you won’t be able to see their status updates or deliver any messages to them, and in the conversation interface, you will be notified that that contact has blocked you. On Facebook, you won’t be able to send a message as well as be notified that you have been blocked. Many other social media apps have different ways of handling a situation like that.
Generally, you won’t be able to see, comment, or like their post if the person who made the post has blocked you. You won’t be able to send a message either.
It’s worth noting that if you experience any of these, it does not automatically mean you have been blocked. It may just be that the other person has reduced their online activity or adjusted a couple of privacy settings. The only way to be certain you have been blocked is to ask the person directly.
