Design

Many TECNO phones released in 2020, starting with the CAMON 15, came with a similar design language, and so be it for the Pouvoir 4 Pro and the CAMON 15. As expected in their price range, you get a well-polished polycarbonate (plastic) build, curving from the rear to the screen on both phones.

Nothing really differentiate the two, a camera module housing a quad setup sits perfectly at the top-left corner of the back cover, while a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor sits centrally next to it. You'll find the speaker grille, charging port, headphones jack, and a microphone at the bottom chassis of both phones.

They also feature similar hardware keys arrangement, Pouvoir takes the edge here with its dedicated Google Assistant key on the left side frame. You get the power and volume keys on the right-side frame.

Features

Starting with the display, both phones come with different looks on the front - so get that right before we continue. The CAMON 15 comes with a 6.6" HD+ Dot-in display, with a resolution of 720*1600 pixels. The Pouvoir 4 bumps the screen to 7.0", featuring a waterdrop notch and a screen resolution of 720*1640. Contrasting further, you get up to 480nits of peak brightness on the Pouvoir, making the screen contents readable under bright lighting conditions - a point for the Pouvoir.

Speaking of the performance, both phones are powered by the same Helio P22 processor from MediaTek. Where the real difference in performance shows up is the memory. You can get up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on the CAMON, while POVA bumps it up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Not just on paper, the extra memory on the Pouvoir 4 Pro would count when it comes to performance.

Where the real differentiators lies are in the battery and camera - where the Pouvoir is focused mainly on Power, CAMON focuses on the Camera instead.

The CAMON 15 draws power from a huge 5,000mAh battery, while the Pouvoir shows its power and advantage with a gigantic 6,000mAh battery. The CAMON 15 doesn't support any form of fast charging: you'll get 18W Super-Charge on the Pouvoir 4 Pro. It's no doubt that the Pouvoir wins the power department anytime...

But when it comes to the camera, the CAMON, without much stress, takes the crown. On paper, you get a camera configuration of 48MP primary lens, 2MP macro lens, 2MP depth sensor, AI lens powered by TAIVOS Technology, and a 16MP selfie camera on the CAMON 15. The Pouvoir 4 Pro scales down the primary camera to 16MP and keeps the secondary, tertiary, quaternary, and selfie cameras the same as the CAMON 15.

What boosts the CAMON 15 camera performance is the new TAIVOS (TECNO AI Vision Optimization Solution) Technology, which brings the ability to capture low-light photos with Super Night Mode to the CAMON 15. Other than that, the 48MP main camera is also better significantly when it comes to photos quality.

Finally, there's nothing much to differentiate on the software. Both phones shipped in with HiOS 6.0 based on Android 10. As expected, you'll get most Android 10 features like Dark Theme, Wi-Fi Share, Gesture Navigation, etc. HiOS 6.0 is also a bonus, as it comes with lots of user-centred features to get you going in your daily activities. A good example of that is Social Turbo: the ultimate WhatsApp assistant you need. Other features include Game Mode, Themes & Fonts, Parental Controls, Pop-up Messages, Magic Button, and more.

Pouvoir 4 Pro or CAMON 15?

Evidently, both phones focus on a different perspective, and TECNO worked on them to give out the best they can. If you're more of a power person that needs a large battery and charging speed, display, large memory, and dual stereo speakers, you can go for the Pouvoir 4 Pro.

If you're photogenic and you're always behind the camera, then the CAMON 15 is for you. You get a 48MP quad-rear camera with TAIVOS Technology enhancement. And not just that, a 6.6" screen, 5,000mAh battery, 4GB+64GB memory, and others are excellent, especially when you compare the price range.

Our verdict: Going for the Pouvoir 4 Pro or the CAMON 15 depends on your mileage.
